- a short Biography

- Sculptor
Larry Henke creates sculptures out of new and recycled steel,
cast iron, brass, copper, wood and stone. They will gain a rich
natural patina with time. About Patina

- His
sculptures often entertain with humor.
-
- He
began sculpting in high school and went on to launch his aesthetic
career with the study of Theatrical Technical Design at the University
of Wisconsin, Madison.

- He
performed his apprenticeship with The Opera Company of Boston
and has lent his design and artistic talents to numerous theatrical
and operatic companies across the U.S.
-

- Subsequently,
Larry became the design partner to fellow artist Ron Bodoh. Together
they have founded The Whimsie Studio which supplies fine galleries
and museum shops around the country with their unique line of
handcrafted copper and brass garden and home accents.

- Larry
Henke’s work has been shown at :The Gallery of Contemporary
Craftsmen in St. Augustine FL, Kokopelli Contemporary Gallery,
Naples FL, National Ornamental Metal Museum, Memphis, TN, National
Building Museum, Washington DC, Mimosa Community Gallery, Madison,
WI, New Orleans Botanical Gardens, New Orleans, at Crimson Laurel
Gallery, Bakersville NC., at The Wave Gallery, Key West and is
on permanent exhibit at Ft. Zachary Taylor St. Park in Key West.
